Lease Purchase Information

Looking to own a home but don’t know where to start?
East Bay NHS, in partnership with Self-Help, provides home ownership opportunities for low-income families who cannot currently obtain lender financing in the East Bay area. Through the Lease Purchase program, families have the resources to own a home, regardless of credit history.

The Lease Purchase Program (also known as “rent-to-own purchase”) provides families with a lease to a property, combined with an option to purchase the property within a specified period of time (less than three years), at an agreed-upon price.

Participation in the program is based upon your initial screening as a potential homebuyer, and may include requirements such as:

  • Homebuyer education
  • Financial Literacy
  • Credit counseling sessions with a third-party provider
